I decided it was time to start from scratch and set up a new diner forum. The newest version is more cross browser friendly and should work with newer technology like cell phones. After a decade of upgrades and updates, the old version wasn't cutting it anymore.
As time progresses and features become available, I will install features like the shoutbox and topic specific themes. However, for now we'll keep things simple.
The new forum has more comprehensive admin, profile, PM, and other features.
I have installed one modification as a test that I think will prove helpful to those who contribute to the site. It's called "Buy me a drink." The idea is to buy members of the site a drink for any reason through PayPal. Whether you just feel like being nice, or you appreciate their efforts on the forum. However, this is NOT set up by default. To set this up, follow these steps:
Go to your profile
On the right, click forum profile
Scroll down and you'll see "Buy me a drink."
It will be set to "Off" by default.
Click the drink of choice (I opted for a coffee, but others are available.
Below the "Buy me a drink" drop down, you'll have to enter your valid PayPal email address.
Click save
For now, lets get this new forum started in the right direction and start posting. Let's keep this thing going for another ten years!
